"The Winter's Tale" is as close as Shakespeare gets to a fairy tale. Students will study this play in depth, focusing on language, music and dance, and specific Shakespearean acting technique. "The Winter's Tale" is the perfect finale for this first round of Playing Shakespeare classes as it is a later comedy (romance) and will showcase the breadth of understanding and skills students have learned from previous Playing Shakespeare classes. “The Winter’s Tale” contains some fantastical elements, so students will also have a say in how these specific moments will play out on a virtual platform.

Build your Bard-a-licious foundation of technique and artistry to help further your Shakespearean study and performance. This workshop is recommended for those who want to expand their knowledge of Shakespeare’s plays, as well as broaden their understanding and proficiency of the text while applying the physical, vocal, and emotional realizations needed to bring Shakespeare’s characters to life. So, whether you’re looking to brush up your Shakespeare or deal with the Bard for the first time, this workshop (for adults at all experience levels) is designed to help actors analyze and interpret Shakespeare for performance through text analysis, monologue/scene study, vocal work, and acting exercises. Shakespeare is the ultimate workout for actors. And if you can do Shakespeare, you can do anything.
